I can't work this bloody camera

So i've had this camera for like 3 years and I still don't have a clue how to use it. From the 1st day I got it I didn't know how to use it, my cousin set up everything for me so when she aint with me I'm like an old person just pressing buttons like 'I wonder what this does?' the other day I discovered how to set a timer I was soo happy with myself I just kept taking bare pics of myself lol. But now somehow the date stamp is on and i don't know how to take it off so now all my pics have the date big and bold in bright yellow numbers. Why won't it go awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay :-(
